After cleaning it very common to have sensitivity. This happens bc in many cases calculus is surrounding the teeth and clogging the Pores resulting in no immediate sensitivity. The problem is that if left on the tooth the tooth may develop periodontal problem and become loose. Many will not be aware of it until the tooth is really loose and usually to late. So the big picture is that its better to remove the calculus and deeal with the sensitivity. Sensodyne should help, but you should not be using any whitening products and they open up the pores even more. So keep the teeth clean with sensitivity paste and avoid whitening products. This goes away with time
I'm using a natural product I found on the internet and I would definitly recommend. I also tried a peroxide thing and got canker soars. The natural one I'm using now is from neem and developed by a guy in India who figured out how to extract some serious whitening properties from it. So far the stains I've had are just about gone after about a week. Here's the site I goit it from.

floss and brush twice. let the toothpaste sit on teeth a minute before rinsing. fluoride is the only known thing that fights cavities. fluoride rinse helps. a dentist will see you immediately if you're in pain. the sooner you see a dentist, the easier and cheaper it will be to repair.

I brush my teeth twice a day but I know people at work that are crazy about it and brush after eating.
that is very strange.....because usually - eating sweet will cause pain to the teeth.....
