What is the best way of cleaning a plastic retainer?!

Question: What is the best way of cleaning a plastic retainer?

I have a plastic retainer and i have tried so hard to keep it clean such as leaving it in warm water, using denture tablets and so forth. But it still seems to have allot of discoloring and has a large build up of plark.

There are several good retainer cleaners, but they are not available in regular stores. They are available online at stores like http://www.dentakit.com. There are: Retainer Brite and SonicBrite, which have been around for a long time. Then the newer products, which do not contain persulfate are: DentaSoak and Cleanse Freshen Go. They all work well to kill germs and get the plaque off your retainer to keep it clean. Just make sure you use them every day to prevent bacterial and plaque buildup.

Denture cleaning tablets have been known to discolor plastic retainers.

Don't use denture cleaner!!!!!! It has chemicals that eat the plastic in retainers. You can buy retainer tablets that look just like denture tablets but say retainer. Brush it with lots of toothpaste for a Lon period of time until then.
