Change dentists to one that will use metal for you.

Amalgam fillings last for up to 20 years+ however the newer type of composite materials they are now using tend to leak and do not last as long. A lot of people make the error of asking for all of their silver fillings to be replaced with white ones due to the cosmetic appearance but this is not a good move. Ask for your new filling to be replaced with an amalgam one.

Metal fillings, for example a silver amalgam, are often made with mercury. There are obvious reasons there why dentists are trying to move away from the metal filling to something safer, even if it doesn't last as long.
