i know what you mean!
basically, your teeth are made of many compounds, some of which are ions. things like fluoride ions and calcium ions can mix with your saliva and an alkaline solution is formed. this is normal and occurs all the time. the metal taste comes when there are many ions in the solution compared to normal. there's nothing wrong, it just means, for some non-harmful reason, the ions on your teeth have come off a bit more than usual.
