So, my teeth are straight, but not aligned. This affects my smile and makes my gums show too much :(
Is this a problem that my dentist can fix if I tell him about it? Would I need jaw realignment surgery or what??

Go to an orthodontist, you will get a retainer and or braces for a couple months, possibly a year.
