I hate my dental crown.?!

Question: I hate my dental crown.?
The dentist stuck it in without ever showing it to me.

It is huge, is it supposed to be this big?

It feels like there is gum stuck to it

It has a big black line at the top of it

It looks so fake..

what are my options?

Go back to your dentist and tell him what you just wrote. You should have been shown what the crown looked like in your mouth before it was permanently cemented. If what you said is completely true, then he should redo the crown at no charge.

Im really sorry that your Unhappy with your Dental Crown and your Dentist Should have let you see it before He/She cemented it in permanently.
You don't say if you had it done Privately or under the NHS (if this applies to you)
if you have had it done under the NHS you will have got the standard crown which is offered on the Nhs and it's designed to be functional and Not cosmetic.
Judging by the black Line you have described I'd guess that you have had a Porcelain Bonded crown which means that a precious metal base is made and the Porcelain is applied in layers over the top and is a fairly Standard crown on the NHS, Functional but Not cosmetic!
If your really unhappy you could go back and see the Dentist who carried out the treatment for you and explain to Him/Her exactly why your unhappy.
Bear in mind if it is an Nhs Crown and you'd like it changed for something more cosmetic you would have to pay for it under a Private basis!

Dental crowns are by no means cheap !! I would go to your dentist and have him do molds of your mouth again if he didn't do them before, also if they allow this have them show you your color options so you can pick and get rid of that black line ! & also, is it flush with your other teeth when you bite? If not your gonna be chewing and break it off anyways ! Go back to your dentist!

Just had one put in.
