What is my orthodontist talking about?!

Question: What is my orthodontist talking about?
Hi, I have an appointment to get a fixed orthodontic arch this thursday. I had moulds made and separaters put in last thursday, but i'm not sure what i'm getting! My orthodontist never explained it, and I trust him because he's really good, but i'd love to know what a fixed orthodontic arch is! I know it's a top brace, and i'm pretty sure there's going to be a wire inbetween my back two molars, but that's all! Thanks! :)

Answers:

There are many things this could mean. Fixed just means it is cemented in place and you do not have to remove it. Orthodontic arch could mean an arch wire or a device that is placed on the arch of your mouth. Either way, you will not have to remove it!

Me, RDA :)
