I've had my braces for four weeks is this normal ?!

Are you talking about the chains? Where the little bands that go around the bracket are linked together? It's normal. Everyone's braces treatments are different because we have different teeth and different things to fix. I actually like those chains better than the individual ones. It does hurt a lot though because it's pulling your teeth together but the pain will go away. Pain always comes every time they tighten your braces.
You can always eat ice cream if you want! When my brother had braces he said biting his teeth together or even just eating no matter how bad it hurt helped because then you got used to it or something.

are you talking about the "pain chain"? They would put these rubber bands that are all linked together on my front four teeth. I have seen people that have it across their entire row of teeth. Its normal but yes, its painful, hence the nickname "pain chain" that people have given it. The pain will go away after awhile. I used to just take a pain reliever like ibuprofen and eat ice cream.
