Why is this happening to my teeth?!

Question: Why is this happening to my teeth?
The more I brush, flosh and drink less soda and more water and milk, the more cavities I get (I only have one, but it came during the year I actually listened to my dentist). So what do I do, should I continue to listen to my dentist or just do what I did like the years when I didn't listen to my dentist? I'm not sure why, but my dad and sibling also have this problem. My dad is brushing his teeth and flossing...a lot, yet he has the most cavities that he, I think, has ever had!

Could it be something that just runs in our family, because I really don't wanna get anymore cavaties.

Answers:

Okay this has happened to be before, I had 11 cavities! And it turns out that this was happening because I was NOT eating breakfast. They say if you don't eat breakfast your body then begins to pull sugar from your teeth causing them to decay. So If you eat, floss, ect. You should be fine. Breakfast is most important!
