Metal Braces or Plastic Braces?!
Question: Metal Braces or Plastic Braces?
the dentist said i'm probably going to have them on for around 2 years.
I dont really want to have metal braces because i have to take senior pictures and there is prom and all of the senior activities..
anyway are plastic braces better than metal?
Do they hurt more??
and are you able to sing with them?

I had metal braces and they really didn't hurt that badly. Most of the time I didn't even notice them.
I do know that the person above is right about plastic ones discoloring quickly. They also have to be worn longer (since you take them in and out) where as most people I know (including myself) who had the metal ones usually got them off sooner than expected.
As far as singing goes, you will be able to sing in both, but you may find you have a lisp with the plastic ones since they wrap your teeth and affect the way your tongue hits your mouth.
If you do go with metal, don't worry about the pictures. Most people I know looked BETTER with their braces on. And trust me, when you look back on your pictures years from now, you're going to remember the fun and memories, not which braces you pick.

I had metal braces for a year and a half, and 5 of my best friends had them too.
I Believe metal would Hurt more but They'll do a WAYY better job. Plastic ones will get yellow fast if you get it in white or clear. Of course you'll be able to sing! I Sing Karaoke all the Time with my friends and I Have metal on! You really should Get metal. You will regret Plastic the second you get them
