Question: Does my sister need braces ? ( With pictures)?
Apparently I'm who you go to if you need help, but honestly I know nada about teeth or orthodontistry .I had her take a picture, and now I'm asking you guys !
Her "lateral incisors" are a bit far from her front teeth and kind of slanted , and she lost her canines last year and she's afraid they aren't coming in because the lateral incisors are in the way .
If she DOES need braces, how long ?

Yes, she will need braces. But so does everyone these days:)
It looks like a very minor case, so the most she will have them is probabl about a year. But they are nearly painless, and so worth it. Consult with your orthodontist for further information on what kind of treatment she will need.
Yes, it looks to me as though she will need braces, as if you look at the incisors and canines, you will see a gap between them. Also, her incisors are slanting towards each other, which will progress to protrusion very soon. However, it would be best to wait until all of her permanent teeth emerge, as if you get braces before that, the emerging of them may mess up other teeth.
In short, yes she will need braces but take her to the orthodontist, don't ask for advice on Yahoo.
