Question: Can mouthwash such as Listerine treat or make ulcers in the mouth worse?

Answers:

You shouldn't use Listerine mouthwash when you have mouth ulcers. It can really irritate them and cause them to get worse. Also, in some cases Listerine can actually cause mouth ulcers. For the best treatment for mouth ulcers, look at your local drugstore (like Walgreens) for Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse. Not only does it help them heal, but it also helps to take the pain away.
