in a word.. no, there are cheaper ways out there :)

Personally, no. I feel it would be a bit of a waste of money and once you start, you will want it done regularly. I have also heard that it can make the teeth sensitive.

If it's really something that bothers you, it's worth trying other things first. I recently discovered oil pulling, which I was using for sensitive teeth, but one added bonus is that it can whiten teeth. It's not as instantaneous a solution as having it done professionally, but it's cheap, safe and easy.

Take a tablespoonful of cold-pressed oil (sunflower or sesame are most commonly recommended, but some people use olive or coconut) and swill it around your mouth for fifteen to twenty minutes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Then spit the oil out (do not swallow it as it will contain bacteria), rinse your mouth out, and then clean your teeth. You can eat shortly afterwards. You can do this up to three times a day (on an empty stomach).

Although I had another reason for doing this (which was also successful), I did noticed quite quickly that my teeth looked whiter. I found the best results in terms of whiter teeth came with olive oil, but it's really up to you what you use.

There are lots of articles about oil pulling online, but below is a discussion thread regarding teeth whitening.

After applying the techniques I couldn't believe the results. My teeth turned shiny white in no time at all and more importantly I did it naturally. My teeth feel great and now I can't keep a smile off my face and with the help of this amazing teeth whitening system I'm sure anyone can do the same. Big celebrity endorsed companies charge an arm and a leg for their gels and toothpastes. But you don't have to fall in their costly traps which end up doing more harm in the long run than good

No but I have good dental hygine and a great smile, they can look false if you go too white.

I would consider it if they were very discoloured and my confidence was affected and it isnt that much money if it makes you feel that you can smile.

I don't have black teeth so I'd say no. It may get to yellow, but you still can make it white. Here's a website that shows how to make yellow teeth to white pearly teeth.

Hope I helped.
