That would be between you and your Dentist. But I don't see why not.

yes you can, the earphones wont be in the way at all. the only annoying this is if they need to say something to you, you may end up pausing the music now and then.
my dentist has a television in the ceiling and they give you headphones :)

My dentist provides CD's and a CD player, so it shouldn't be a problem to use your iPod. Talk to him about it first, but I am sure it will be okay.

Root canals are not anywhere near as difficult or painful as they once were. Modern dentistry really is pretty much painless. Good luck. You'll be fine.
