braces info please!!!?!

haha i just got my braces 2 hours ago .. doesn't hurt at all. in fact, it tickles, but i don't know how it will feel tmr. and yeah, you can choose your colours. i'm sure you're allowed to bring your phone, 'cause that's what i did

anyways, you lay there for an hour, and the dentist glues these metal brackets to your teeth.
after, you can rinse your mouth or whatever, get back into the chair, and he inserts the metal wire through the metal brackets. doesn't hurt at all. just feels a bit uncomfortable

the worst thing about getting braces put on was the part where he was gluing the brackets on. it doesn't hurt at all, but it just feels really uncomfortable 'cause he uses this weird thingy to keep your mouth open, and your mouth gets really dry afterwards

It takes 5-10 minutes. Isn't painful at all, but your jaw aches after a little bit, but thats okay
yeah you can choose your colour. nah all electronic equipment must be shut off, it wont take long anyway
basically they are just gluing brackets to your teeth, and the glur dries with this large gun like machine, its pretty cool!
but you have nothing to worry about!

My advice though:
if you are given bands to wear at a later stage - WEAR THEM!
and when you are given the invisible removable brace aftrerwards - WEAR IT - otherwise your teeth go right back to where they were before and there are no second tries. Trust me, i had braces for 4 years and i didnt wear that final brace, i'm not back where i started and cant get the treatment for free now.

personal experience

i have braces noww. it takes about 1-2 hours to get the braces put on. it doesnt hurt when you get them on, but a little bit afterwards it feels tight and a little sore for a few days. yes, you can choose the color when you get them (at least at my ortho) i dont think you can take your ipod or cell phone because your laying down the entire time with your ortho hunched over your face. i passed time by counting the dots on the cieling tiles. lol hope i helped some !

For time wise, it all depends on if you are getting both sets on. If you get both sets on, then it will take about 1:30-2:30 hours. At some orthos, you can choose your colors the first time, but some don't so ask your ortho. I brought my ipod and they said i could listen to it, so again it all depends on your ortho. it takes less than an hour and doesnt hurt except the tightening, that hurts quite a bit. ice packs helped me. i was able to choose colors and brought my ipod. fyi. the glue tastes nasty if it gets on your tounge. but braces are worth itt:)

had braces for 4 yearss

for the first day it will hurt. You will have to eat soft food only.
as for the phone.ipod that depends ont he doctor.
