Question: I have a loose tooth and they put braces back on!:( what shouold I do?
Hello,
whoever is reading this..
So I am 15 years old and I am a varsity cheerleader. I recently just had my first competiton and I was a base for one stunt and then had to move to the next stunt and I became a backspot. As the flyer was coming down she was caught to high by the bases and her head hit me in the mouth. It broke my retainer and my right front tooth was a little bit loose.
The next day I went to the dentist and they told me that I need braces.. Which totally sucked because I have beautiful teeth.
They put 4 braces on my front teeth. And my next opp. isnt untill the 27 of january. I think that it is really stupid that i have braces on because my tooth is not loose anymore and it does not hurt..

I think that I just need a retainer. Dont you think so?
I am really a pretty girl and braces make me feel very unconfiedent. So comment back to this and tell me what should I do. Because i want them off and they ovbviously dont know what the hell they are doing with my teeth!

I know you are very upset. But, your dentist is correct in his treatment. When your tooth was knocked loose, it damaged some of the bone that your tooth sits in.

Imagine a wooden stake sticking out of the ground. If it was hit forcefully from one side, it would push back, and crush the hard dirt behind it. If you tried to straighten the stake, it would not stand correctly. You would need to repack the dirt, to make it more solid.

The braces are there to hold your tooth in the proper position so that the new bone can fill in the traumatized space of the bone. A retainer could not do the job.

P.S. Braces do not make pretty girls look less pretty. A missing front tooth is another story. Trust your dentist!

Tell them that your tooth is loose anymore and that it doesn't hurt.
Ask if your mom, because they can't do anything without the parents desicion.
I'm pretty sure that you don't need braces
I hoped this helped, good luck.
