How bad do braces hurt?!

just take some advil or some asprin and you will be fine. I had braces, and the only time it really hurt was the first couple of days when i tried to eat something. Everyone has a different pain tolerance. You will be fine to dance though (: so good luckk!!

ah, i remember having them good ol' braces, lol.

yes, it does hurt, unfortunately. D: and i don't mean it's going to hurt the whoooole time you're in those braces, but once you first get them put on, it'll hurt for about a week or so, since it immediately starts to align your teeth. as for your dance competition, i reeeally wouldn't worry about it at all, the braces obviously won't hurt your whole body, just your teeth. it'll feel sore, and it'll be quite difficult to chew at all. it took me about an hour to eat a sandwich when i first got my braces, haha. but as for dancing, you should be just fine, it won't affect your ability to do so.

yes, it will hurt. you will be very sore the next day.
after that it will be fine until you get them tightened.

ask your orthodontist if he can give you something for inflammation/swelling to help you get through your dance competition.

i would take about 800mg of ibuprofen (for pain/swelling), and 1000mg of tylenol (for pain).
i would stay away from narcotics if you need to be alert and focused for your competition.

It hurts so bad.. They will rub against your inner lip, and it'll feel like it's being tortured. Your inner cheeks will also feel that way. And then every morning for the first days, you'll feel your teeth hurt badly. For me, bottom braces hurt way worse because it was crowded. It still hurt even after 2 weeks. The first day you get them on isn't that bad I tell you, but the next day it'll hurt uber bad.

Yes braces do hurt. :) The first day is HORRIBLE... I didn't even go to school the first day. For me I still couldn't eat the second day. I could move around and all, it's just trying to chew and everything. :) I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember to take a Advil before you go into to EVERY ortho appointment.... because tightening doesn't feel to good either.

two days latter it should be tolerable. but the first day is hell. You will be in pain after two days but it is mostly just sensitivity to pressure and you will be glad you are no longer felling for intense pain.

Not very bad you'll be sore but smoke some weed and you won't feel a thing.

Two days later should be fine, but the day after you get them on,
your mouth is so sore.
