How long does it take to fix an overbite?!

Question: How long does it take to fix an overbite?
Ive had my braces on since last April to correct my overbite and straighten my teeth a bit, well now my teeth are completely straight and i guess ive been on the strongest dental elastics now for a few months. Coming from someone with experience how much longer would you say i have since im wearing my elastics constantly. Thnx =) (btw im just curious im not desperate to get them off)

It's different with everyone... it also depends how bad your bite is. I started out with a overbite that wasn't too bad... then they gave me rubber bands and I never wore them. :P But my guess is since you're wearing them it shouldn't take too long. My overbite is fixed now. :) People usually will at least have their braces on from a year to two and a half but depends on your teeth. :D My guess is it won't take to long now. The only thing is that the teeth have to lock in place which takes a while.
Hopes this helps. :)

Bracceesss :P

personally, i had my braces put on, then the elastics put on like a year later. about a year later i was done with the elastics, and could get my braces off.

it really depends on your age/jaw.
younger people have more moldable bones, so it is quicker to adjust an over/under bite.
if you are anywhere between 6-12, that is prime time to do it!

i've had braces & i'm a dental assistant and used to work in a ortho office!
