I have small cavities and I need advice?!

Question: I have small cavities and I need advice?
I'm 11 years old, I have like 2-3 small cavities and probably A little big one(possibly medium) on my upper tooth. My dentist appointment got canceled last month cause of that stupid desk guy, He can't even spell my name! and the others got canceled too, At least I'm not the only one. That kinda makes me brave and excited, I really want to have a filling and my tooth pulled out, Which I'm not really scared ( I had a couple of teeth pulled out ALWAYS a few years ago and I got use to it ) But I'm kinda scared but I know I'm brave and it's just ALL in my head, But I get all shakey when I sit on the dentist chair but excited at the same time, I always brushed my teeth like 2-3 times a day, and always drink tap water, But it's just this girl at my school who had way LOTS of cavities on her teeth, When she smiles or opens her mouth, You can just see the blackness on her teeth, Y-yuck. But can anybody calm me down at the dentist next time? (Dentist is coming this month some time, I hope)... I'm kinda scared.. If I hear kids like my age or below my age went to the dentist and had their teeth filled, That's how I get braver.

Hi there, firstly well done for having such good oral hygiene, keep up the good brushing! Now everyone is a bit weary of the dentist and no one loves it, I never see patients coming through my door singing and dancing "Im getting a filling today Woopee" so you are normal. I am a dental nurse and even I am not a fan of the dental chair. Mine is pink lol. Anyway your small cavities may only need a small fissure sealing which is a scrape and maybe a drill then a paste goes on top of the surface to seal it and protect it from further decay. The medium one may need a drill and a scrape and maybe a proper filling but as you are 11 ask for a white composite filling and not a silver amalgam one as these are nicer and your decay wont be that bad that it needs a silver one. You must trust your dentist and talk to him/her. If you feel more comfortable talking to the dental nurse then ask her stuff. My little boy is 7 and has check ups but has never had a filling yet thank goodness, my girl is 13 and she just got a filling last month, she was also nervous and needed a jag and do you know what she said to me , she didn't even know he had jagged her, it was pain free, the filling was white and she was happy when she left. I work in an Oral Surgery Clinic and take teeth out all day only but when I worked in a normal dentist we used to do fillings on kids teeth all the time, some kids were as young as 5 or as old as 79. Braveness grows with you and as you get older you will adjust to the dentist. Take care and good luck x

I am a dental nurse in the UK
