Cracked baby tooth, dental procedures?!

Question: Cracked baby tooth, dental procedures?
I am a 12 year old girl and one of my molars has been loose for the past few weeks. I was eating and my tooth cracked. It is on the side and not chipped off but when you fiddle with it you can see the inside of my tooth. I am going to the dentist tomorrow morning to get this checked out, what might the procedures be?

Answers:

Right - well the main issue is you're not in pain.
And it is a baby tooth due to fall out anyway. Well if there is no sign of a problem leaving it to fall out naturally (even if it has cracked a little) then the dentist may opt to leave it. Otherwise they may suggest it comes out. If you think of how painless it is when a normal baby tooth comes out - it doesnt have long roots or anything scary - thats the same if it needs to come out at the dentist - they'll make sure its numb first anyway. SO either way - nothing to worry about - the dentist can have a good look for you

Hi I am glad you updated your info, okay so its a baby tooth. Due to it being a useless baby tooth the need to extract it. This will be easy to take out even if cracked. The roots on a baby molar are no where near as long or thick as an adult tooth and these usually pop out with a strong pull. Nikka you will need to be made numb for this just in case its a bit sore, the dentist will rub some gel on your gum before the jag and this numbs the gum great so you dont feel the jag going in at all. Your adult tooth is just waiting under the surface to come through so thats something to look forward to. Good Luck for tomorrow, you will be fine x

He may pull it, or he may just leave it and let it fall out on its own. He will probably only pull it if it is causing you pain or discomfort. If he decides to pull it he will first freeze the area then yank it out with pliers. You won't feel a thing. I had a few baby teeth pulled as a child.

get it removed or put a cap on it?
