often in oral surgery, the "thread" used for stitches is made to break down with time so you dont need to go back to the doctor to have the stitches removed. this may not be the case for you. but it sometimes is. if the wound is not very healed, then i recommend contacting the doctor.

or where they are- for major surgery or deep wounds i'd be back to the doctor in a heartbeat, but for something like wisdom teeth... well my first stitch fell out when my baby niece accidentally headbutted me 2 days after surgery and it didnt hinder my recovery at all, a hole for a little while, but no wierd scars or open holes in my face...

The stitches are only really useful for the first 48 hours after that period they can fall out or be taken out , you didn't say how long you had them in for. if you are worried and your gum is flapping around then go back and get it sewn together again.

Can u call the doctor today?
It may be okay.
You didn't say how long you had stitches.

see a dentist
