Here's three things you can do tonight:

1. Floss and brush, then use hydrogen peroxide and water as a rinse
2. In the morning, when you wake up rinse with salt and warm water
3. Drink plenty of water to keep the mouth hydrated

Remember, every situation is different and other remedies may solve your problem, so I listed a resource that goes in depth on bleeding gums.

Well don worry, it is definitely not scurvy. Seems you may be having gum disease called as gingivitis or periodontitis. It is basically caused because of the accumulation of plaque and tartar around your teeth. The only treatment for this is getting a scaling (cleaning) procedure done from your dentist. It is painless, will get rid all the tartar and most importantly increase the life of your tooth. All other therapies of a paste or gel or tabs or mouthwash will not provide you relief (lucky if you get it). They all work only when your teeth are cleaned.

Am a dentist

get a mouthwash (periogaurd or similar) and tooth paste for gum disease ( that have chlorhexidine) ...if you cant find them just do with good quality paste and mouthwash... Your dentist will have to see you eventually since these only temporarily help.. the real treatment might envolve proffessioal intervention.

My gums use to bleed when I brushed until I started using aloe vera. I would rub a little on my gums in the morning and before bed. This really helped, so maybe you should try it.

most likely scurvy. If you finger nails are going bad as well drinking Vitamin Water with lots of vitamin c will help. If not see your gp.

Orojel for temporary pain relief.
