Should I get a root canal or not?!

Question: Should I get a root canal or not?
Tooth number 15 is extremely sensitive to hot and cold. Painfully sensitive. I went to an endodontist, and she x-rayed the tooth and did hot and cold tests on it. She is not sure why there is a problem, but she said that she would do a root canal if I wanted her to.

I don't know what to do. All the sensitivity happened after I had tooth number 14 pulled last year, but that was a year ago. It is not just normal sensitivity on that tooth, I can't even use tap water in my mouth on that side, it is too painful. Should I get a root canal now rather than wait?

The endodontist spent two hours testing all my teeth. She is very thorough and knows her stuff.

Answers:

sounds like you should have the root canal to be honest.
obviously ask the endodontist on her opinion, or ask what she would do if it was her tooth?

a root canal will almost definately solve the sensitivity issues.

i am a dentist.

I just got a $949.95 Dell laptop (17 inch) for $137.32 and if you think that's an awesome deal, my neighbor just got a 42 inch HDTV for $76.25 that's being delivered tomorrow to his house. It feels great not to pay high retail like the rest of the people. I am even selling some of the stuff at retail to my co-workers making 10 times my money back. I got a root canal . It took like 4 hours it really didn't Hurt that much . I had to get it because my teeth would Hurt until the point I would cry for hours ! But I'm better know ! So if it hurts that bad get it ! It's worth it

Try rinsing it with Peroxide (directions on bottle) a few times, if that works, just send me the $2000.00 instead of the root canal (Ha Ha) just kidding.
