I chipped the right corner of my right tooth. How can the dentist fix it, and wi!

Question: I chipped the right corner of my right tooth. How can the dentist fix it, and will they have to numb me up?
I'm in a bad situation. I have a dentist appointment in about two weeks to get the regular yearly cleaning. But I was laughing at my mom in the kitchen about 20 minutes ago and I swooped my body down from laughing so hard and my mouth was wide open, so I hit my front right tooth on the granite counter. I felt my tooth being knocked and the little bits of the corner of my tooth dropped onto my tongue. It's only a little bit, not noticeable from a few feet away, but it's only a small corner chipped. I have perfectly straight teeth and I always get compliments on them. I've never had braces or anything like that but all my friends thought I did when they first met me. I was just wondering how the dentist would fix my tooth, and if it would hurt? I'm 13, and I have all my grown-up teeth. (One is still growing) Thanks guys!

This is an easy fix, had a similar thing happen. No novacain needed. He will just resculpt it like an artificial fingernail.

If a chipped tooth is very minimally damaged, the dentist may be able to file the tooth smooth again. He or she may also recommend doing nothing if the damage is very minimal. However, in many cases, even minor chips are treated with either composite or porcelain veneers. Veneers are bonded directly to the tooth, giving it a smooth, natural appearance.

They won't fix it on the day of your cleaning. You'll have to make a separate appt.

Well, I guess you'll have to keep your distance from people in the meantime!

Vanity is a sin.
