Does everyone get dry socket after having wisdom teeth removed? And what is dry !

Question: Does everyone get dry socket after having wisdom teeth removed? And what is dry socket?
Answers:

no everyone does not get it only few people get it who donot follow the post extraction instructions properly.
after extraction, the tooth socket fills with blood and this blood clot takes 24 hrs to become attached to the bone.
some people donot take cold diet in 24 hrs or do rinses in 24 hrs or talk too much ALL THESE REASONS cause the blood clot to dislodge from the bone socket and make the bone dry.the dry bone becomes infected very fast from the bacteria in our mouth.this is called DRY SOCKET.
just remember to take COLD DIET like icecream, cold shakes for 24 hrs after extraction and then do WARM SALT WATER RINSES AFTER 24 HRS to make the bone heal faster.

The doctor of course gave a great answer; however, I guess I am one of those rare people that have to wait longer than 24 hours to be able to rinse, swish liquids, suck thru a straw, and spit. Even my mom waited the 24 hours after her extraction and rinsed with salt water and still got a dry socket and so did I. So, I would suggest, just to be on the safe side, to wait 2-3 days after surgery until you use a straw, smoke, rinse, etc. If you need to do a salt-water rinse, then put the water in your mouth and tilt your head to one side and let the water sort of trickle over the extraction, but don't swish. Repeat for the other side. Don't spit out the water, but just hang your head over the sink and let the water come out of your mouth without using force. I do realize the normal thing to do is to wait 24 hours, but some people aren't in that normal range and get dry sockets and you never know until you have the surgery and follow the instructions. I've had to learn the hard way. I've had them before and they are very painful. You'll know you have one when about 4-5 days after your surgery, the pain gets worse not better. If that happens, call your surgeon. He will place a medicine-soaked gauze into the affected extraction site and it takes about a week for the thin layer of gum tissue to form over the bone & nerve. During this week, do not rinse, swish, etc.

Not everybody. Just don't smoke or use a straw.

It's empty air pocket trapped in your gums. Extremely painful.
