Worried about losing my teeth...?!
Question: Worried about losing my teeth...?
Answers:
8 fillings is not the end of the world at 19, I work in the West of Scotland who have Europe's worst dental care ever so Ive seen it all here. As you are now brushing flossing and mouth washing at least you have taken action now, if you were 40 I would say its too late but you are still very young and have time to pick it up. Loosing teeth is mainly down to gum disease, decayed teeth obviously are a factor but bad gums spell no teeth. Keep up the good oral hygiene and cutting back on some sugars, don't stress out too much as you are doing fine. Everyone loses there teeth as the get older, some as teens some as old as 70 but maintaining them is the key. Fillings prevent further deeper decay developing so at least they are filled and not big holes. You will do fine, good luck x
I am a dental nurse in the UK
Isn't it funny that with our water being fluoridated and we are all still getting cavities? Fluoride, when swallowed, actually does more harm than good to teeth. It's a wonderful ingredient in toothpaste etc, but we should not have it in our drinking water. Symptoms of fluoride poisoning include depression, obsessive compulsiveness, decreased I.Q., tooth decay, osteoporosis, etc.
I think the fact that you are obsessed with the worry of losing your teeth is a telling sign that you need to switch to bottled water.
