Question: My rubber bands for my braces made my jaw pop!?
I have to wear rubber bands to fix my slight overbite and every once in awhile my jaw will pop and it doesn't hurt or anything. Earlier today my jaw popped and it hurt and all day my jaw has been sore and I haven't been able to open it very far and I can't eat much at all. I called my ortho and I have an appointment on Monday for her to check it out. I'm supposed to get my braces off in April or possibly sooner. I was just wondering if this will push that date back, since I won't be able to wear my rubber bands which are fixing my overbite? What do you think, do you think I will still get them off in April?

I had rubber bands for over a year wore them non stop except when eating. My orthodontist kept promising to take off my braces after several years but ended up wearing them 3 years. Then had to get braces again about a year later. Had braces 3 times. But you may get them off depending on the way your teeth move and if the rubber bands are doing what they're supposed to.
