How do I deal with my Bulimic girlfriend?!

Question: How do I deal with my Bulimic girlfriend?
I live in Los Angeles, I just started seeing this girl 6 months ago, and later in the relationship, I found out that she was bulimic. I suspect the source of the problem is that she got hurt in her previous relationship, and she's not over it. She binges and purges on a semi-regular basis. I have tried what I can to help her. I have suggested therapy, I always give her compliments, but she just gets offended and seems to be in denial. I think she is scared to let her parents know, and she doesn't believe in "therapy". I don't know what to do anymore. I really care about her, and I hate seeing her like this. What can I do? Is there any free therapy so her parents don't have to know?

These things are tough. Tell her that when she has any problem of any type, that you would be happy to listen to her. Bulimia is partially a person's way of relieving stress whether they know it or not, it's not JUST about body dissatisfaction. The problem always goes deeper, that's where therapy helps. When a person tells a therapist about their life, the therapist can explain what the deeper trigger was. She just needs to know that therapy isn't suppose to be some magical medicine that will make you better. This misconception is what makes people not "believe" in therapy. Therapy is actually more of a guide to help you find out what's bothering you and tells you how YOU can fix it. You should try to explain that to her. Also, you should look up the health problems associated with bulimia and either tell her them or have her read them. Trust me, their serious. Worst case scenario- death. Some things I can think of from the top of my head are, rupture of the esophagus and stomach (can be fatal), ulcers in the esophagus and stomach (which can also prove fatal), erosion of teeth, canker sores, it goes on. If she uses laxatives that can also cause problems such as screwing up your digestion, liver failure and more.

I've taken health classes.

The way I helped my girlfriend to overcome this same problem, is to tell her that you won't see her again until she can stop. If she really likes you or loves you or whatever you're calling it, she'll have to choose between her boyfriend (you) and throwing up (bulimia).

I would call around to the local hospitals they have support groups that she can go to that are for free

You also should talk to her and see if she wants help because she has to be the one to want to get better you forcing her to go to the therapy or group might make it worst

Tell her that she is perfect the way she is and that you would love her no matter what. Tell her how beautiful she is and how perfect she is and just sit down and talk to her and tell her how much she means to you and the illness that can fallow bulimia

Well if it's bad enough she needs therapy her parents need to know. This is serious and can't be swept away like getting a bad grade. She needs medical help and lots of support from you and her parents.

Talk to her if you really care about her, tell her its not only hurting her, but you also. And if she really cares for you too, and herself, she'll try get help or something.

my own opinion

Give her a meat injection. Everybody loves steak.

If you really care about her you should tell her fam she cant hide it forever

Just make sure you give her some extra protein injections

Give her a breath mint

First, you have to let her know you understand and just keep complementing her and when she denies it tell her it's true and she is shouldn't deny it and she's beautiful. Keep suggesting therapy though, because that's the only real solution. There isn't any free therapy, but if you find a good therapist near you and tell her about that therapist specifically it might make it seem like more of a real possibility to her. Offer that you could take her and that it'll help her a lot. idk what else to say, u might want to tell her parents but if she knew that you told them she might get mad.
