wisdom tooth misery whilst pregnant?!

Question: Wisdom tooth misery whilst pregnant?
I am 38 weeks pregnant and over the past two weeks have been having problems with my wisdom tooth. I have been to the dentists three times now and am now on my third course of antibiotics which are double dose as they dont seem to be doing anything. I am taking paracetamol round the clock which are not doing anything and am utterly miserable. The dentist has started proceedings to get me referred to have it out once baby is born but I actually do not know if I can cope until then. It is impacted and the pain is unbearable, making eating, sleeping and generally coping with day to day stuff impossible. I cant even bear the thought that I may go into labour whilst I am already in this pain. Is there any other options? I keep waiting for the antibiotics to do some good but my entire neck and jaw hurts on that side and its getting worse. Just any help would be appreciated.

amoxillin and paracetamol are the safest med during pregnancy.
we cannot give you any other med as it would effect your baby.
YOUR BABY IS MORE IMPORTANT than your tooth at this time.
do mouthwash rinses before going to sleep and also brush the area.keep it clean.
dont take hot/warm food stuffs.avoid pressure to the tooth with hand/dont sleep on the affected side.

An un anounced tooth pain could be very painful thereby causing great discomfort. You might however find useful natural remedies to such pains in the absence of a dentist. I have used the 12 hour toothache product in the past and it was incredible in its performance. You can try it too.

Pregnant or no, he can't pull the tooth until the infection is cleared.

Get it pulled out, they are of no use anyhow.

I feel your pain. I had terrible tooth pain on 4 teeth in the very early stages of pregnancy and it I wondered is toothpain worse than childbirth?

Anyway, I would go to another dentist and tell his eveyrthing then make an app to get them pulled out. If the drugs are not working then there is no other way.

It's also not good to take antibiotics or anything artifical when pregnant as I assume you know. Which isn't your fault of course, I took antibiotics too to get rid of the infection that was under my gums.

I hope you do this and feel better, you don't want to have tooth ache whilst you are in labour, this could possibly stress you out even more which will make it a lot more difficult for you.
