Decay, Stain or Other? Please Help?!

Question: Decay, Stain or Other? Please Help?
I have just noticed a grey mark on the back of one of my upper incisors near the bottom edge of the tooth. I have been to the dentist 3 times in the last three months as I currently have an anxiety disorder and worry about my teeth. Each time I've been the dentist has taken and x-rays of some of my teeth (not sure if he has this one) but there have been no signs of decay anywhere in my mouth. Last time I went was a month ago and still had no problems after noticing other brown marks.

I clean my teeth thoroughly every day, brush twice a day for 2 minutes, floss and use mouthwash. This mark most likely has been there a while but I'm still worried, Could tooth decay develop that quick after an examination? Bearing in mind I haven't had decay in 6/7 years and just this past few months I have improved my oral hygiene considerably.

Could dental caries form in such a short space of time?

I did take Tetracycline when I was younger, between ages 13/14-18, and have already had some brown/yellow marks looked at and they were fine...

Too much mouthwash can actually cause discoloration or minor tooth decay. Try to cut back to a couple times a week and you should be fine. Feel that area of your tooth and see if it feels chalkier than your other teeth. Does it feel like there is a slight indention where a part of your tooth has been worn down? If so, it may be demineralization. If not, just be sure to take care of that particular tooth. Don't brush your teeth too hard because that could also cause your teeth to be worn down a bit and lose minerals.
