Wait to eat it it. It can strain the ligaments in your mouth if you start chewing real food too soon. That happened to me after I got mine out, and my mouth started swelling again. It was so bad that I could barely open my jaw wide enough to fit food in. Also, you'll risk getting food into the holes in your mouth which could possibly give you an infection.
