Can a tooth infection cause fluid in my ear? I'm not sure anymore if the pr!

Question: Can a tooth infection cause fluid in my ear? I'm not sure anymore if the problem is my tooth or ear.?
My tooth is sore to touch. I've had a root canal and a retreatment which was about 3 weeks ago. I now have pain again and it feels like I have fluid in my ear and a lump inside my neck beneath my jaw line. I'm wondering if I should have the tooth pulled but worried that its the ear so I don't want to pull a tooth for no reason.

YES it can be from your tooth. The lump in your neck is more then likely your lymphoid which help the body fight infection. (It usually feels like rock or pebble under the skin and can be moved a bit) If you have an infection of any kind the lymphoids usually do swell a bit and can be painful as well but not always. But the tooth infection can spread to your ear as your ear and throat are connected. And your jaw bone may ache as well.

Go back to your dentist and ask for an evaluation of the procedure- if it is caused by the root canal that dentist should clean it up and fix it again.

Yes. It sounds like you have an infection which is spreading to the surrounding tissue and the inflammation is probably putting pressure on your eustachian tube which runs from your ear behind your jaw. Before I had my wisdom teeth removed I had this problem CONSTANTLY. You will have to see a dentist who will probably give you antibiotics to treat the infection before the tooth is extracted or worked on in any way. I think if a root canal fails (and sometimes they do) they pull it. I've never had one though.

I agree with everyone above, and if your clogged ear does not go away when you get the tooth problem resolved try this home cure for clogged ears (eustachian tube) that works from the inside - it is amazing. It works any time ears get clogged even from cold and allergy.

Go check out the ear with the doctor, but infections from teeth can spread to other parts of the body, so you should discuss with your medic about the possible reasons for your symptoms as soon as possible. Maybe it's normal to feel that after a root canal, you should ask that. Hope you feel better soon!

An infection in the mouth can be serious enough to infect the rest of your body and cause serious other issues. I don't know specifically about your ear issue but you might want to go back to the dentist.

you could have whats called a dry socket from the root canal the dentist can tell you that. the fluid in the ear usually is an inner ear infection and you will need meds to clear it up go see the doc
