Do dentists remove tartar/calculus?!
Question: Do dentists remove tartar/calculus?
I mean when you go to the dentist for a cleaning. Is that something they ALWAYS take care of? Because I go for cleanings regularly and I still have it. I'm really concerned about it leading to gum disease or my teeth falling out or something. My teeth aren't that bad but I thought if tartar stays on your teeth it spreads under your gums and causes gum disease.

It's quite normal. Every time I go to my dentist, I get a clean. It's something they are supposed to do, after all it's part of their routine. Explain your concerns to your dentist, and he/she can give you information on how to help you. If they don't, get a new dentist.
