Getting wisdom teeth pulled out :/? 10 points?!

Question: Getting wisdom teeth pulled out :/? 10 points?
I went to the dentist today because behind my teeth have been hurting alot they said that i have an inffection where my wisdom tooth is coming in so she put me on antibiotics and sent a referal to go get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out next week and im nervous and wondering if theres anything i need to know before

Answers:

Wisdom teeth often get infected due to their position and bacterias gets trapped resulting in inflammation under the gum and you are unable to clean this area. Antibiotics will clear this up quickly. Teeth cannot be extracted when there is an active infection as infection stops the vessels from numbing up as well as they do when there is no infection. Before the extractions you should stock up on soft foods and pain relief. You will be sore and taking regular paracetamol and Ibuprofen together will keep our pain and swelling under control. To extract the teeth all four corners of your mouth must be numbed so having your full mouth numb is not nice but a necessary evil. If any of the extractions are surgical then you will be left with a few dissolving stitches. You will be given post op advice from your dentist to follow to avoid getting a dry socket. Don't make any plans for the next few days after the teeth are out as you will be swollen and miserable for a while

I am a dental nurse in the UK

After you get them out, make sure you get lots of rest afterwards, dont eat crunchy food (eat food like yogurt, spagetti, and any food that you can just swollow more of than chew and is easy to chew up) and take pain relievers too. You should be fine as long as you do this. The dentist might suggest other things to that you can do after you get them out.

I had all 4 of mine out at the same time and I think it's the best way, as opposed to just one side, then the other side. There wasn't much pain, but I was tired after the 'dream state' anesthesia. You will need to be at home for a day or two after, and be careful what you eat for a few weeks, but other than that it's not much of a strain.
