How Much do Metal Braces cost for kids?!

well...i'll be getting my braces on in a couple of weeks and it ill cost me (15yo) $6200AU ( not claiming anything) at the orthodontist which is a specialist for braces. I'm not sure if the cost for kids is the same as adults or not. if you go to an ortho. and they suggest that you take out permanent/adult teeth then you may have to pay more for that as well. i had that covered in insuranced and had to pay an extra $50 for each tooth. i guess it depends on where you'll go to get braces. usually an ortho. would cost more than a dentist.

i dont know if braces hurt..since i havent experienced it myself but i've heard that it's painful not during the process of putting braces on but afterwards when your teeth actually start shifting.

i forgot to mention that you pay each time you get your braces tightened. after i get my braces ill be paying about $300AU a month. i think it's best that you get a recommendation from a family dentist to go to an orthodontist and then ask the ortho. how much you'll be paying etc. etc. then you can get started (if you wanted to still continue with it).

Ummm....They can cost anywhere from 1500 to 2000, usually, but it isn't that much when you pay slowly...I would look it up to be sure

Braces are really easy and are only sore the first few days, and when you get them "tightened", they sometimes hurt anywhere from not at all to 2 hours afterwards. It's a very simple process. It all depends on where you get the braces from as to the cost. Believe me, with a little bit of Tylenol or Advil, your braces won't hurt once you get them on! Any other day with braces is no big deal at all. It takes anywhere from 4 days to a week to get used to them. Best of luck to you!
