Icing Wisdom Teeth Once Extracted?!

Question: Icing Wisdom Teeth Once Extracted?
I just got my wisdom teeth extracted this morning ( all four) and i have a question about the swelling. i know one is supposed to ice no longer that 15 minutes on, then 15 minutes off, so i am wondering what is the best sleeping arrangement? Would i be better off hitting the hay with a bag of ice on my cheeks, or waiting until i wake up to continue icing?

You dont have to ice when you sleep. Personally i didnt even ice very often at all and mine were fine withing 3-4 days

After I had my 2 lower wisdom teeth removed, I was so high on oxycodin, I didn't care how much my face swelled, I just played Halo till I passed out. this was 3 years ago. My advice is don't sweat the swelling, it will go away in a while, just don't expect to talk or eat solid food for a few days. But as for the icing, just hold it to your face for as long as you can stand it.and be cool, this is gonna suck, but you will be a bit tougher than you were!

been there, done that.
