How to stop gums from bleeding?!

Question: How to stop gums from bleeding?
Today I noticed that the gum in front of one of my bottom front teeth. My gums seem a tiny bit swollen in parts of my mouth, but not badly. My teeth don't hurt at all. I know I don't have good oral hygeine and I can't see a dentist since I'm no longer covered by my mom's insurance and I don't have the money to pay for a check up. I read brushing at least twice a day and flossing will hep, and I am planning in trying that. I'm also going to some mouth wash to see if that helps. Is there anything else I should try? Also is there a way to strengthen enamel on teeth? Thanks.

You are in the early stage of gingivitis, and can reverse the effects with consistent oral care or by administering a natural anti-bacterial agent.

Here's what you can do to help yourself:

1) floss and brush after every meal
2) use a good oral rinse that does not contain alcohol
3) keep your mouth hydrated; bacteria thrives in a dry-mouth
4) in the morning, rinse your mouth with salt and warm water
5) use a natural oral rinse before bedtime

Mouth wash probably won't help but the brushing and flossing will. It's called gingivitis. Google it but it is your gums getting inflamed because they are irritated by the bacteria in the plaque. Toothpicks can sometimes clean well in that area as well but don't poke at the gums.
Fluoride toothpaste is great for strengthening the teeth. Prevident 5000, prescribed by dentists, may be good for you and MI paste is a new product on the market that claims to rebuild teeth.

I'm a dentist

Gargle with salt water when they start to bleed. I have gingivitis and have this problem all the time! Swollen and bleeding gums are key indications of it too.

Do the flossing, but be gentle and switch to a softer brush so you don't irritate your gums and make them bleed even more. I also switched to an electric toothbrush, which helped cut down the bleeding and swelling substantially since it gets rid of more plague and build up than a regular tooth brush. I've found that all of these things have helped me greatly. Hope it helps you too!

I dont know about the strengthening part but gums will bleed with disease or when you havent brushed or flossed for a while. Mouth wash will also help a lot. Mine swell a lot when I havent flossed for a while and then do. The swelling goes away in about 24 hrs and bleeding takes about a day or two also and will only happen when brushing.

If it doesnt go away within a few days a regular daily hygiene then you really should see someone. My county provides cheap dental care or call around to some offices that will let you set up a payment plan. Not everyone makes you pay on the day of the visit.
Good Luck but it doesn't sound like anything to worry about.
