Should I wear my rubber bands for braces at school ?!

Question: Should I wear my rubber bands for braces at school ?
I wear braces and I've had them for almost four years now! The dentist gave me rubberbands to wear so my teeth will move like he wants them to move. The thing is when I put those rubber bands on my teeth, the rubber bands are so tight, I can barely open my mouth, and say things clearly. If I'm going to eat I have to take them off. It's frustrating becacuse the dentist wants me to wear them as much as I can, but at school I feel awkward wearing them. At other places where I have to socalize I also feel nervous wearing them . What should I do? Should I wear them to school and all places I go ?

Answers:

Assuming you want those braces off as soon as possible you need to wear the rubber as much as you can. There is nothing to be embarrassed/nervous about. As you wear them more your jaw will get stronger and the teeth will move quicker.

i always wore them to school, but they were never as pesky and painful as you make them sound. if that's the case, then i suggest you wear them to bed(you will have to do this with your retainer eventually) or at home. either way, you MUST wear your rubber bands or else your teeth will not get fixed at all.

yeah you should, no one will care :P its not like its abnormal to wear them :P i know heaps of people who have them and they're really popular :) trust me, no one will care, braces are MEANT to be like that :)

no wearing them to bed will be the best because ur keeping ur mouth closed so it will pull on ur teeth better and it wont hurt as much

Ask you orthodontist. He/she is the expert on your particular treatment,
