How can I reduce swelling from my wisdom teeth removal?!

Question: How can I reduce swelling from my wisdom teeth removal?
Okay so thursday morning i got all four of my wisdom teeth removed and so i applied ice to my cheeks for 24 hours. After that i applied heat to my cheeks for another 24 hours.. i noticed that after i began to apply heat my cheeks started to swell A LOT! It is now saturday and my cheeks are not going down at all.. just a minute ago i rinsed with salt water and i am applying ice to my cheeks again. also, since they were removed i have been taking the prescribed amount of painkillers and one or two ibuprofen.. any suggestions to get rid of the swelling?? It needs to be gone by tuesday because i have to go back to school.. :] Thanks!

Answers:

Usually the swelling starts showing up on the second or third day that you get your teeth removed. It will take about a week or so for the swelling to reduce completely. You are doing a good job with your recovery =)
