Braces are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant. The saliva and other acids that temporarily enter the mouth (food and drink) are not enough to make the metal corrode. Stainless steel contains chorium, which stops corrosion from damaging the metal.

The wire isn't made from a metal that corrodes. Iron corrodes when it reacts with oxygen, but metal braces aren't made from this, they're made from titanium.
