How long will my teeth last without seeing a dentist?!

Question: How long will my teeth last without seeing a dentist?
Obviously it depends on my diet: acids, sugars I munch on and how often I brush my teeth and also on my genetics, but that aside, what is the average?

It depends on your teeth.. some people I know haven't been to the dentist in 20 years! Ew, right? but it is possible if you keep them brushed 2 times a day at least, floss and keep your sugar intake low. Besides, they didn't always HAVE dentists hundreds of years ago.. Then again, they didn't have all the junk we eat either. I should mention that these people that havent gone in 20 years have awful teeth. It is recommended to go every 6 months, but usually you can get by with once a year. I made the mistake of waiting over 2 years to go and I used to have perfect teeth, but now (even though I havent changed anything as far as brushing, eating, flossing, etc) I had 2 cavities, pre-stage gum disease and found out I grind my teeth at night. It's always good to go just to see where you're at and to get them professionally cleaned.

There is really no way to tell, everyone's mouth is different, has a slightly different pH, consumption of different foods, genetics, some people can go 10 years, and only have a couple cavities, some can go every 6 months and still have root canals, extractions, etc etc
