They put something in your mouth to keep your top and bottom teeth separate, then they put a tube in your mouth to keep any saliva off your teeth to keep them dry so they can put glue on them then they glue on the brackets after they're all glued in they put in the wire, the color bands bands are what prevent the wire from coming out, its totally not painful.

Well, I'm not all smart with dental equipment, but they first dry your mouth. (They also put a tube in it to drain out saliva) Then they put some weird glue substance on each of your teeth, applying the brackets. (Either you chose the color of them or you dentist does) Then finally, they put the wire on. Your dentist should let you rinse your mouth out. (It feels weird when you first get braces!) And they may give you some wax for your braces, too. Hope this helps (: PS- Again, not good with dental stuff… I can hardly remember getting my braces, so some of this may be incorrect PPS- And there is nothing to be scared of- most of the time when you have them, you tend to forgot their even on your teeth

There is nothing to be scared of. I had braces for four years and was scared at first, but it's really not bad at all. They'll clean your teeth really well and then basically glue on the brackets (the little square things). They'll then kind of thread a wire through the brackets and then use those brightly coloured bands to fasten it on. It will probably be sore for a few days, but that's a good thing because it means your teeth are moving. You might do well to take a dose of painkiller before you go into the office and then as needed (don't exceed the dosage recommended on the bottle, though). Plan on having yogurt, pudding, applesauce, a smoothie, or Jell-o that first night for supper, and maybe for a few meals afterward.
Congrats on taking a step toward a healthier and a lovelier smile :)

there is nothing to be scared of. i had braces on me twice, and they dry ur teeth, apply glue, put on the braces, and put on the wires. they do a bunch of little things in between, and i dont really know what. dont' worry, it doesnt hurt, although it will be hard to eat a few things for a while after (like that day)
