Do Braces Hurt? What Is The Procedure When They Put The Braces On?!

It might feel a bit tight at first, which can be a bit painful & last for a few days. It's nothing too sore though, and if you take a painkiller or put some bonjela on it it should go away :).
It can be sore if there are bits sticking out of the brace, which might cut your gum.. they'll give you wax to put on these bits, make sure your mouth is dry before you put it on so that it'll stick.
When they put them on they'll put something in your mouth to hold it open and then dry it out (this can be a bit uncomfortable but only lasts about 10-15 mins), then they'll glue on the metal bits on and secure the wire on with the little bands.
It shouldn't hurt too much, if it hurts too much tell them and they should make it more comfortable for you. Hope this helps!

I have braces.

no they don't hurt getting on. Your mouth will feel sore for a few days (mine did) and it may hurt to eat (like chew things. have soup or ice cream! or even mashed potatoes and rice, something easy to swallow.)

I'm not sure HOW they put it on, but i know that when theyput them on me, they had this hand held thing, and i didn't even notice when they were on! Now my mouth is VERY sensitive. It hurts whatever they do to my mouth, but if i didn't feel the braces coming on, you definitely shouldn't.

yes they hurt a day after u get them so make sure before u get them eat a BUNCH cuz for like a week i couldnt eat only poridge and stuff

it doesnt hurt wen they put it on they just place glue like stuff on ur teeth each one then place the braces on it nd it sticks ther after thats done they put the wire in and chop the ends off and done

i dont really know the procedure you cant tell whats happening :S
but its over quite quick :D
for the ache after take 2 paracetomal every 4 hours, it should ware off within 4 days max id say
