Question: Im getting my braces off in April, im soo scared!!?
Ive had my braces on for 1 year now and my ortho said I could have them taken off early in April (YAY!!:DD) i had them tightened a few weeks ago and my ortho took one of my brackets off and put a new one on to sort out my bite and it really hurt! do they all feel like that?! what happens!!?

If you just had them tightened, they probably hurt because of that. Your teeth may just be sensitive. By the time you get your braces off, your teeth should no longer be sore. How they remove braces is the just kind of twist it and break it off. For me, it didn't hurt at all. After they do that, they get this... drill type thing and get rid of the "glue" from your teeth. Don't worry, they don't actually drill INTO your teeth, so it doesn't hurt at all. Just on the outside. Then after you get your braces off, your teeth feel all smooth, and kinda "slimey" :) and it's not a bad thing, it's a good feeling.

yeah your teeth get sensative after youve had them off..think about it the roots have moved
they give you something called a retainer which you wear for 6 months or so



they will be sore for about a week. The more you wear your retainer the less it will hurt.
