I have Bite Turbos.. How long until my teeth begin to touch?!


Question: I have Bite Turbos.. How long until my teeth begin to touch?
I just got braces a few days ago and due to my severe overbite, my orthodontist put 2 bite turbos on the back of my two front teeth. These turbos stop both sides of my teeth from touching, so the only contact my teeth have are my bottom teeth to the top 2 turbos. It's impossible to eat anything that needs chewing, especially since chewing with my turbos is quite painful. I know they're usually on for about 8 months, but about how long will it be until my teeth can actually touch with the turbos on so I can eat some real food?!

The length of time it takes is determined by many factors prominent among which is on how much movement is needed to get to the desired goal. The 18 months you were given is probably the best rough guide but they are usually removed usually in a short while say about 6 months on average.

If you have any concern, your best bet is speaking with the orthodontist who placed them in the first instance. But don't be in a hurry because they are for good if not, you'll soon chew off your braces due to your deep bite!
