What happened with my frenulum of my tongue?!

You know that white line under the tongue? Well, mine sort of moved like it had a cramp or something. And while it was in the wrong place, it hurt so much, so I tried to move it back and when it did, it sort of snapped and made a small cut. Then it started to bleed and I could taste iron in my mouth. Now, I can't lift up my tongue and it hurts to talk. It's not so bad now though, but how long would it take to heal? Do I need to do anything? It was just so weird and painful..
Has anyone ever heard of this?
