Question: Why do i have a major sweet tooth?

Whenever I'm done eating "real" food I always want dessert I love sweet things like cake and cookies Im not too fond of gummy stuff but I love chocolate. But anyway what makes a person have a sweet tooth? How do the taste buds work to make us like what we like and dislike what we dislike?
