How long do braces have to stay on with extractions?!

Question: How long do braces have to stay on with extractions?

I got my braces a year ago. I got 4 teeth extracted shortly after and have seen major improvements. The extraction gaps are not closed yet but it's obvious they have moved. I'm just wondering with the extractions, how much longer should I have my braces? I know the average is about 2 years.
