What are some good ways to pass the time during a root canal?!

I'm probably getting a root canal Friday, and I hear the worst part about it is the length of it; my mom had a double root canal and it took 3 hours! Luckily I'm just getting one done, but I'm afraid if I don't have anything to do during the procedure I'll worry to much about it and just make it worse on me. What are some ways to pass the time? I'm bringing my ipod. I don't know if they have a TV in there because I've never been to this dentist before. All answers are greatly appreciated.
