What is the proccess of getting braces off?!

i'd like to know that.
i'm getting mine taken off in 29 days :)

well they hook a chain up to your braces, and the other end to a truck, then they tie you down, and the truck takes off and rips your braces off.

lol no its pretty easy. they take the little rubber bands off, then take the wire off. then they go with something that looks kind of like some shears or pliers and it bites, for lack of a better word, each little nub off. it really isn't bad.

The worst is getting your retainer formed, because you have to hold this disgusting paste in your mouth for about a minute, several times to make a mold for the retainers. it made me almost throw up.

So when i got mine done they took my bands off (if you have any) than they prob. will leave your wire on so that the brackets wont fall in your mouth. They take a plyer like thing that they sorta squeeze it and push on it and it just pops off your teeth. IT just fells like a lot of pressure not really pain. after that they pull the wire out with all the brackets out of your mouth. it will feel really funny!!! than they will thake a sander thing that sands all the glue off. they will give you glasses to put on and your mouth will feel really dry and gross. You rince after that!!! They polish your teeth and shape them if needed. if thay put a bottom retainer in (perminate) than they will put that on and you have to keep your tounge back its really akward!!! When they do the removable retainer they will mix up this paste and put it in a "u" shaped mold and hold it in there for a few minutes. you may feel like you are going to gag because it is so far back in your mouth! you will prob. come back in 2 weeks to get it and then they will check how it fits and make sure you can take it out and put it in and clean it correctly!!! It will feel funny on your gums and cheeks because there is no wire stopping them as well as you will keep rubbing your toung against your teeth. If you feel you have a low pain tollerance take pain medication over the counter 20 minutes minimum before you go and while they are doing it make sure you relax remind yourself to loosen up and just keep breathing haha at times you will relize how tence you are... good luck!!!!
